Star Wuerdemann

Star Wuerdemann is a writer, educator, and acupuncturist who lives in Olympia, Washington. She is the founder of OlyPages Writing Arts Studio, a creative writing education center in partnership with Browsers Bookshop

Star is a longtime student of Natalie Goldberg, graduate of The Loft Literary Center’s Year-Long Novel Project, and a Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference alum. She holds a BA in English Language and Literature, a Master of Acupuncture, and is a Jukai recipient (lay ordination) in Soto Zen Buddhism. 

Star was adjunct faculty at Maryland University for nine years and has continued to do community teaching. She has presented at Pacific Northwest Writer’s Association Conference and Tacoma Community College’s Write in the Harbor Conference. She is an alum of Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference and The Loft Literary Center’s Year-Long Novel Writing Program. Star has had the privilege of studying writing craft with a variety of brilliant authors including Natalie Goldberg, Rebecca Makkai, Tania James, Annie Hartnett, Garth Greenwell, and more.
